WHO WE ARE:
This policy explains how CASDAM LTD, trading as FANK Studio (company no. 15893436, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom), collects and uses your personal data when you visit fankstudio.com, shop with us or contact us. We are the controller of your personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Questions or requests: hello@fankstudio.com.
WHAT WE COLLECT:
– Identity and contact: name, email, phone number, billing and delivery address.
– Order data: items bought, order history, returns, communications with us.
– Payment data: handled directly by our payment providers (such as Shopify Payments, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay). We receive confirmation of payment and limited card details (e.g. card type, last four digits), never your full card number.
– Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed and how you reached us, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
– Marketing preferences: whether you have signed up to our emails or texts.
WHY WE USE IT, AND OUR LEGAL BASIS:
– To process and deliver your order, handle returns and give customer service — performance of a contract.
– To prevent fraud and keep our website secure — legitimate interests.
– To keep accounting and tax records — legal obligation.
– To send marketing emails or texts — your consent (or, for existing customers, soft opt-in under PECR). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
– To understand and improve our website and ads using analytics and advertising cookies — your consent, given through our cookie banner.
WHO WE SHARE IT WITH:
We only share what is needed, with:
– Shopify, which hosts our store and processes data on our behalf.
– Payment providers, to take payment and prevent fraud.
– Fulfilment partners and suppliers, who pack and ship your order. They receive your name, delivery address, phone number and the items ordered.
– Couriers and postal services, to deliver your parcel.
– Email, analytics and advertising providers (for example Shopify Email, Klaviyo, Google, Meta, TikTok), only where you have agreed to the relevant cookies or marketing.
– Professional advisers and authorities, where required by law or to protect our rights.
We never sell your personal data.
INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS:
Some of our service providers and fulfilment partners are based outside the UK, including in the European Union, the United States and China. Where data is transferred to a country without a UK adequacy decision, we use safeguards approved under UK law, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or rely on the transfer being necessary to perform our contract with you (shipping your order).
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT:
– Order and transaction records: 6 years after the end of the financial year (UK tax law).
– Customer service emails: up to 2 years after the issue is closed.
– Marketing data: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.
– Cookie data: as described in our cookie banner, usually no longer than 13 months.
COOKIES:
We use essential cookies to make the store work (e.g. your cart and checkout). We only use analytics and advertising cookies if you accept them in our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time via the cookie settings link in our footer or your browser settings.
YOUR RIGHTS:
Under UK data protection law you have the right to: access your data; correct it; have it erased; restrict or object to processing (including direct marketing, at any time); data portability; and withdraw consent at any time. Email us to use any of these rights. We will reply within one month and may need to verify your identity. There is normally no fee.
SECURITY:
We use reputable providers with strong security measures and limit access to your data to people who need it. No online service can be 100% secure, so please keep your account password private.
CHILDREN:
Our store is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect children's data.
COMPLAINTS:
If you are unhappy with how we use your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, 0303 123 1113.
CHANGES:
We may update this policy. The latest version is always on this page, with the date at the top.
